This morning I attended an onboarding webinar for new ambassadors at Remake. Yes, yours truly is now a Remake Ambassador!
Being part of a like-minded group is always encouraging and comforting. And being present with young people who are making changes at grass roots levels is also encouraging. The average age of the attendees must have been the late 20s at most. (Enabling my computer with video and audio connections was not possible, so I hope they did not realize that I was the senior citizen of the group)
The focus of the organization is to educate and mobilize a community to act and advocate for garment workers and the planet. Sustainability is made accessible and inclusive across 3 pillars of work: education, advocacy and transparency.
One of its goals is the remake the closets of 1 million women by 2015. In 3 years, the organization has grown to over 800 members in 39 states and 51 countries. This non-profit organization is igniting a conscious consumer movement to turn fashion into a force for good.
If you would like to see more about them and their vision, visit them on social media: @remakeourworld remake.world
And better yet, be part of this movement!
