That long awaited moment has finally happened! A few weeks ago, we had a typical video call with our daughter and her husband in their kitchen. When she pulled something out of their oven, I immediately caught on, while my husband struggled with “Why are you taking a hamburger bun out of the oven?”
And so, the next chapter begins! I have made many quilts over the years before transitioning to upcycling denim. Now I am temporarily stepping away, though not completely. There are 2 items that I have already made which have been safely stored away for future grandchildren.
The first one is called a “Quiet Book” and has 11 pages within its cover. It is a fabric book for a small child to use during religious services. It has biblical and religious references, is interactive and washable. Not only does it keep little ones busy, but they can also learning about their faith.
The next one is a wall hanging with some creatures on it. It has a patchworked base (yes, with denim) and then appliqued and embroidery applied animals and creatures.
