I wonder how many people that have pets are able to both greatly credit them while also silently cursing their participation in sewing projects? Yes, we all love our pets. And yes, their love is absolutely unconditional.
No cats allowed (sadly) in our home as someone is highly allergic. As our lifestyle has been downsized, so have out beautiful canines. The 2 former large dogs, Queenie and Princess (both Belgium Shepherds) have special burial places. They were “outside” dogs and there was very little sewing occurring so no mixing there. Now we have smaller dogs, Petunia and Chiky (Long-haired Wheaten Terrier and Cocker-Spaniel/Cuban Bishan mix) are indoor/outdoor pets.

It is said that having pets helps your physical and mental health and also contributes to a longer life. I know that sewing has helped my mental health improve and has indirectly encouraged improvements in my physical health. So, combine that with my two fur babies and I am feeling very positive and well!
