An Ode to my Very Loved Mom Jeans

As you age, perhaps you might become less concerned about what people think about your clothing and more concerned about how they make you feel about yourself. Maybe your comfort and personal style?

Once mocked for wearing “mom jeans,’ I realize that I am now fiercely proud of these jeans. I will continue to wear them and continue to visibly mend them in different ways: boro, sashiko, applique, reverse applique, embroidery, etc. As we both age, I feel happy to know that they only grow more comfortable, loved, and transformed. They are who I am and who I am proud to be.
